Before reading the news, READ THE DISCLAIMER in the top section
of the site.
MAY 25, 2004 - Well, this is it. A year and a lot of late nights
later, my season 8 series comes to a close tonight. Thank you all
for reading my scripts. I hope to
have you all back here again for any future projects that I might
come up with. Any feedback on any of the scripts is very much
appreciated.
Until we meet again...
MAY 20, 2004 - Computer problems continue to plague this machine
of mine, but at least I can update my site enough to get the
colors back to their usual selves.
Can't seem to manage a cool ad for the finale though... just try
to imagine that I put a lot of hard work into one and it's very
impressive.
As the series comes to a close, I'm still planning the Special
Edition update. Hopefully, there will be commentaries, and other
"features" to add to that page. If you
have any ideas, feel free to e-mail them to me... just use
someplacethatiselse@yahoo.com for now.
MAY 18, 2004 - Well, it was bound to happen. With only two
episodes left, I suddenly developed computer problems, so if the
page looks funky this week, that
would be why. This also means that I've lost pretty much all of
my e-mails. If you know me, please send me your e-mail address.
Next week marks the end of our season 8 journey. The series
finale, "The Power" will be an extended episode, with
about ten additional minutes added to it .
MAY 11, 2004 - Only two episodes remain after tonight. What can
we expect? Here are a few hints? Well, according to sources close
to the set, the final
episodes will see some familiar faces returning. The story itself
is said to be "quite big". I've also learned that
filming took place in California for some of the last
episodes. True, these aren't earth shattering revelations, but
I've never been big on huge spoilers.
I'd like to take this chance to let you know that there will be a
Special Edition Season 8 site going up in the future, once the
season is complete. This will include
special features that will be announced as the release gets
closer, so keep an eye out for that.
MAY 4, 2004 - A new episode is up for the viewing, but there's
not a lot of news to report. One tidbit from a source close to
the set says that the final episodes of
the season will tie together a lot of arcs from this, and other
seasons. It should be interesting to see how they turn out.
APRIL 20, 2004 - Not a lot to report today. Just a reminder to
all of you reading this to come back on May 4 for a new episode.
While you wait, you can
review some of the older episodes.
APRIL 13, 2004 - The wait is over! "Road To Hell"
premieres tonight! These episodes will have to hold you over
though, because it will be three weeks before
the next new episode, "Hide And Seek" begins the
countdown to the series finale. Reports from the set say that a
lot of filming for the upcoming episode, "Flashback"
has been done in California, not the Canadian location that's
normally used for the Bear River setting. The episode is said to
feature Iyari Limon very heavily, and may only feature the
Scoobies as supporting characters. This isn't like the Scoobyless
episodes, just not quite as focused on them.
Familiar sets have been constructed, according to inside sources.
These include sets like Sunnydale High, and Buffy's old house.
Considering the name of the episode, one might conclude that
these sets are meant for "Flashback", but that is only
speculation.
MARCH 23, 2004 - The blurb for "Road To Hell, Part 2"
is now up, as is the title for the first episode of May.
It has been confirmed that Anthony Stewart Head will be back to
play Giles in the final four episodes of the series.
MARCH 15, 2004 - A quick update about "Road To Hell".
Sources close to the set tell me that this is a "very
dark" two-parter. In fact, part 2 will be shown
with a "Viewer Discretion" warning before it. Plot
blurb has been added for part 1.
MARCH 9, 2004 - While there may not be a new
episode scheduled until April, I did manage to get a few comments
from the special guest star of the last
episode, "It Just Is". This is a major spoiler if you
haven't read the episode, so do not read it until you've read the
episode. When ready, swipe the field below.
{ Eliza Dushku returned for a surprise
appearance in "It Just Is". What made her decide to
appear? "It was a really great idea, I thought. It's
nice to give Faith
some closure." And how did she manage to star in an
entire episode while busy with her own series, Tru
Calling? "It was hard. I spent a good four or
five
weeks working on the episode on my days off of Tru Calling. We
had to cram a lot of work into those days, but it was worth
it." And one last question.
Now that Faith is dead, will this mean the last of Eliza in the
Buffyverse? "You never know, right? This is a show where
more than one character's died, only
to come back for more. The show's ending, so it's probably the
end of it for me, but you never know what Joss will think of
next." }
Updates will come as anything interesting passes by me. Until
then, enjoy previous episodes. You never know what details will
be important to the remaining
episodes!
FEBRUARY 24, 2004 - Tonight's the last new
episode until April 13's two-hour event.
I've posted the title of the two-hour April event. "The
Road To Hell". As soon as I have more details on
that story, I'll post it here. Stay tuned.
FEBRUARY 17, 2004 - This week is the last
episode to feature the Scoobies until May. Next week will feature
a story about another Slayer, dealing with
her biggest enemy... hey, I just post the press release, I don't
write them. After that, it's all reruns until April, when there
will be a two-part episode. Those episodes
will air on the same night, so it's like a Buffyverse movie of
sorts. I'll get title info ASAP. Stay tuned.
FEBRUARY 10, 2004 - Just 8 episodes remain
after tonight! I've added the titles for the rest of the month.
Next week's episode focuses a lot on Dawn,
so Michelle Trachtenberg took some time out of her schedule to
comment on the episode (which will also be the last episode to
focus on the Scoobies until the
final four in May). Here's what she had to say:
"It's a pretty fun episode, but
there's a lot going on. I think there are a few surprises in
there, and Dawn starts to really shine."
"We do see more of the Dawn/Jenna interaction. There's
definitely some progress made there."
(on this season as a whole) "I've enjoyed it. We've had more
time off, so that's nice. I also love the new town we film in. I
even like the episodes
that don't have any of us in them. I think that kinda adds a
whole new angle."
As far as the last episode of the month goes,
there are only a few details known. It will involve a Slayer in
another part of the world, and it will not be related to
"Legacy" in any way. Hopefully, more details will be
known by next week.
FEBRUARY 3, 2004 - New episode this week!
Still not sure about the titles of the last two episodes of the
month, but expect them by next week.
The latest scheduling rumors suggest that there will be no new
episodes in March, but there will be a two-hour event in April,
before the final four episodes
in May.
JANUARY 27, 2004 - Season 8 goes German! A
member of our Yahoo group, by the name of Bennim2 has
translated season 8 into German, for more
Buffy fans around the world to enjoy. Check out the site at http://www.buffyforum.de/
No new episode this week. However, next week is the start of
sweeps. Four all new episodes begin next week! These episodes
will change the lives of the gang
forever.
JANUARY 20, 2004 - New episode tonight. Other
than that, there's not a lot to report. Stay tuned for more
information about upcoming sweeps episodes.
JANUARY 13, 2004 - Finally, new episodes!
After a month of waiting, Buffy returns with "Twenty-Three
Skiddo".
After next week's continuation of "Legacy", we'll be
in for another rerun ("The Trouble With Hah'Ree"), and
then February sweeps begins on the 3rd.
What can we expect during sweeps? An inside source tells me that
we should expect some big character developments for characters
other than Buffy.
What that means exactly, I don't know. I guess we'll have to tune
in and find out.
JANUARY 6, 2004 - Happy New Year, everyone!
One week until the next new episode! There isn't a lot of news
this week. I have learned that there
will be more episodes along the lines of "Legacy",
which will have little-to-no regulars involved. Expect three more
after "Legacy, Part 2". That's all for this week.
Next week, "Twenty-Three Skidoo" will mark the halfway
point for the season. Don't miss it!
DECEMBER 30, 2003 - No episode at all this
week. Stupid reality shows, invading our tv schedule. They must
be stopped!
In lighter news, my e-mail is working again, so if anyone tried
e-mailing me and it didn't work, try again. I also added the next
title, for January 20.
Looks like we'll be seeing what happened to Isabelle and Richard,
after the first part of the Legacy story.
DECEMBER 23, 2003 - Still nothing to report
this week. The only thing to say is, Happy Holidays!
DECEMBER 16, 2003 - Rerun this week, and
nothing new to report. Sorry, but it looks like we're in a
holiday slump.
DECEMBER 13, 2003 - "Scratch" hits
1000! The first episode of season 8 has hit over
1000 hits since it's premiere on September 30, 2003.
Many thanks to all who have read it, and to all who have passed
along word of this series.
DECEMBER 9, 2003 - Tonight's episode is the
last new episode of the year. The next new episode,
"Twenty-Three Skidoo" will be on January 13.
The big news about this episode is that it will mark the return
of another character that has been asked about quite a bit.
Kennedy. Iyari Limon has filmed
the episode, and had this to say about her return: "It's
great to be back. Working with the cast is always fun."...
"I'm hoping to add a little more to
Kennedy this year. I think we can get into her character a bit
more than last year, because last year was very hectic."
Does this mean that she'll be in more than one episode?
"I'll be in a few. I can't really say what happens, but
I think it's safe to say that Kennedy will have some interesting
interaction with Willow and the
others."
The rerun schedule will be as follows, December 16 - "No
Worries", December 23 - "Me Time", December 30 -
NO EPISODE THIS WEEK (network plans
to air an encore presentation of some reality series instead),
January 6 - "Whos The Slayer"
DECEMBER 2, 2003 - No new episode this week.
Instead, the "official" episode this week is a rerun of
"Scratch".
In other news, more comments from Joss about what is coming
up. I managed to ask the man himself a few questions. Here is
what he had to say...
Willow and Xander? "I know what you're
thinking, and the answer is a big fat YES! It is indeed true that
both actors have agreed to come back to the
show for season 8." What's up with the First? "We
couldn't get the actor who played the First to come back for
season 8. Sorry." I'm starting to think
that this interview is a wee bit pointless. "Did
you really expect me to tell you stuff?" No.
Not really. Okay, one last question. PLEASE answer it...
"Shoot." We already saw the
return of Amy, Jenny, Joyce and Kendra. We also know that Cordy
is coming back. Can we expect to see any other
familiar faces? "Well..." NOT
counting the main cast! "You avoided that one
pretty well, so I'll tell you this... this season is deeply tied
to what has
before it." Cool. Thanks... so, will we see
Faith? "You said the last one was the last
one!" Did I? Wow... I guess I lied. "Cheater."
So will we? "You
do realize that Eliza is on another show, right? That would make
an appearance by Faith into a back-bending stunt filled situation
that would require
much planning and thought." So...? "I'm
trying to cut back on planning and thought."
So... I guess we didn't get much information from the
interview, but it was still fun.
NOVEMBER 25, 2003 - This is the last new
episode until December 9. After that, there will be another break
before two new episodes air in January.
NOVEMBER 18, 2003 - Not much to report this
week. I added the links section (scroll down), but that's about
it. Just a reminder, next week, there will be
a new episode, however, it will be the last one until December 9.
NOVEMBER 11, 2003 - Wondering about the big
arc of this season? A comment from Marti Noxon reveals a little
of what we can expect.
"This year is really a continuation of the story that
started in season 7. It would be hard to not pick up on where the
finale left off."
So, does that mean that the First is the big bad? "Yes
and no. In a way, the First has always been the big bad."
What does this all mean? Well... Who knows? But it's a good
tease, right?
A little behind on the links section, but I'm hoping to have
that up soon. Meanwhile, I've added the episode titles through
the end of the year. There will only
be one new episode in December, so that will be it until January.
Also, if you have a few seconds, check out what I got for my
birthday. You Buffy fans will love it. CLICK HERE
NOVEMBER 4, 2003 - November, the month of the
Slayer? Seems that way. Starting next week, we will have three
episodes that involve Slayers.
Also, if you're wondering why there is an episode called
"Legacy, Part 1" and no "Legacy, Part 2" the
following week, you're probably not the only one
to question that. Joss' comments on the matter? "We have
a second part to the story, but you won't see it until
later."
Interesting.
I've also learned a little more about the schedule. It seems that
there will be only one new episode in December, and two in
January. More on them when I
can get details.
Coming soon, I will have a links section and some images for
people to link to my site with. If you post on any Buffy related
boards, or are in any similar groups,
please pass the word along about this site. I could use all of
the word of mouth that I can get.
OCTOBER 28, 2003 - Here it is folks. The Big
revelation of the December guest star. This is a spoiler, so read
it at your own risk. To read it, swipe the field
directly to the right. [ Charisma Carpenter
will reprise her role as Cordelia Chase on December 9! ]
Added episode titles through episode 8.
OCTOBER 21, 2003 - Nothing to report this
week. The revelation of the surprise guest should be made either
next week or the week after.
To those waiting for a reply to e-mails, I will reply soon. I've
been having some computer troubles, so things have been a bit
slow.
OCTOBER 14, 2003 - Added title for episode 6.
Still waiting for word on the mystery guest for December. All I
currently know is that it is a female. Also added
a new feature. Now you can discuss the latest episodes by joining
the Yahoo Group.
(thanks to Catherine for the suggestion)
OCTOBER 7, 2003 - UPDATE! - After Joss'
latest comments about Kennedy, I took it upon myself to contact
Iyari Limon's agency. What they say has spoiler
potential, so if you want to read it, swipe the space below.
{ When asked if Iyari would be appearing
on the show this season, her agent could neither confirm nor
deny. However, he did say that she and Joss "Are still on
very good terms, and speak regularly." }
Also, added titles for episodes 4 and 5.
And finally, souces tell me that the mysterious December guest
star has signed onto the episode. An official announcment should
be made in a matter of weeks.
OCTOBER 5, 2003 - What happened to Kennedy? A
question we've all been asking since the premiere was addressed
by Joss yesterday. What'd he say?
"Kennedy? Oh yeah. I forgot about her. I guess we'll do
something about that at some point."
SEPTEMBER 30, 2003 - Well, the season
premiere has arrived, and to celebrate the big day, I have
comments from all of the show's stars and it's
creator, Joss Whedon. What do they have to say? I asked them
questions about the new season and these are their answers.
- Sarah Michelle Gellar... QUESTION: How's the new season
working out for you? ANSWER: You know, I really thought
that we'd gone everywhere we could with the character,
but this season is turning out to be really interesting.
QUESTION: Any hints at what we can expect? ANSWER: More
slayers, and maybe some travelling. That's all I'll say.
- Nicholas Brendon... QUESTION: How are you liking the new
season? ANSWER: It's cool. Very new. Almost like the show
ended and none of us are really involved with this at
all. QUESTION: What's the patch like? ANSWER: The patch
was hard to work with. Very moody. Always throwing a
tantrum and running to it's trailer.
- Michelle Trachtenberg... QUESTION: The show moved to
Canada. What's that like? ANSWER: Kinda weird, but
interesting. I miss home, but the way it's working out, I
get to go home more than I thought. QUESTION: So less
Dawn this season? ANSWER: No. There's some really cool
stuff for me this year, it's just the scheduling that
changes.
- Allyson Hannigan... QUESTION: We've seen Willow go from
super geek, to super witch. What's left for her to do?
ANSWER: She's got a lot more to do than you might
imagine. There's some really interesting stuff happening
this year. I think she's always been a pretty unstable
person, because she's never been comfortable in her own
skin. I think she starts to find herself a bit more this
year. QUESTION: She pulled some amazing tricks in the
finale. Does her new white hair super power have anything
to do with her changes? ANSWER: If I answered that, men
in black would drop from the ceiling and cut me into
small chunks right in front of you.
- Joss Whedon... QUESTION: 22 new episodes. How'd that
happen. ANSWER: It didn't really. The Informant Network
is making it all up. They're very insane and should be
arrested and charged with several crimes. QUESTION:
Erm... no please. None of the main cast members are
signed for every episode. How will that work out? ANSWER:
Very cool ways of working that out. What you'll end up
with are a few stories that are part of our bigger arc,
but in different settings and with different characters.
QUESTION: Any we know? ANSWER: Hey, you only asked
everyone else two questions!
SEPTEMBER 18, 2003 - Added the titles of the
second and third episodes. Also, rumor has it that Giles will
appear in at least two episodes in November.
SEPTEMBER 9, 2003 - With the debut just three
weeks away, more rumblings are coming out as to what we can
expect in season 8. Here's a quick (and
purposely vague) rundown.
- There will be a whole group of new recurring characters.
This includes one boy, a little older than Dawn.
- The situation with the Slayers will obviously be
addressed, but it will not be the focus of the first few
episodes.
- Xander will be going through a weird change.
- A certain someone from Buffy's past will be coming back
into her life.
- Some dead characters will appear this season, but not all
in the same way.
- Negotiations are underway for a special guest star for
the first post-November sweeps episode, to be shown in
December. More on that later.
- There will be a Halloween episode, but it will be more of
an "All The Way" than a "Halloween"
or "Fear, Itself" type of Halloween episode.
Meaning
that Halloween isn't a huge part of the episode's plot.
AUGUST 25, 2003 -- Something odd seems to be
afoot. There is a rumor that the main cast may not be contracted
to every episode this season. If true, this would mean that there
would either be episodes with none of the main cast (Buffy, Dawn,
Xander and Willow), or that each member would miss different
episodes. More as it developes. Also, the season premiere has
been set! September 30 is the big day. Tune in then for "Scratch".
JULY 31, 2003 -- In a surprising twist, we're
now hearing that at least part of season 8 will be shot in
Canada. It isn't unusual for tv shows to film in Canada, as
production costs are lower there. Rumor has it that Sarah will do
a lot of traveling between the Canadian set and Los Angeles where
they plan to allow her to film
some episodes as the season goes on. Sarah recently made a
comment about this season where she expressed her excitment over
the renewal, and described it as
being "More like Buffy a vampire Slayer
than the vampire slayer." She says the
change of location makes the show feel new again, and she is
happy to play a
much more relaxed Buffy. Joss is also talking with her about
appearing on an episode of "Angel" at some point this
year.
JULY 12, 2003 -- Sorry for the late update.
Hectic life stuff. Anyway, to view the transcripts of the Joss
chat, click HERE.
In other news, filming on the season 8
premiere, which is currently titled "Scratch"
(subject to change) begins on July 28.
JUNE 20, 2003 -- Joss will be giving an
online chat next week. We'll post anything that he has to say
about season 8.
JUNE 14, 2003 -- It's official! Sarah
Michelle Gellar has signed on to return as Buffy. Also signed on
for season 8 are Alyson Hannigan, Nicholas Brendon and
Michelle Tractenberg. Anthony Stewart Head has not signed on as a
regular, but according to sources, he is interested in coming
back for an unknown amount of
episodes.
JUNE 8, 2003 -- Great news, Buffy fans!!! The
show has officially been picked up by a new network, called TIN.
Joss will return to head the series, but so far,
there is no word on which actors will be returning, or how many
episodes there will be.
